For those of you who like winter lure projects, it is always a pain in
the butt trying to find the bits and pieces that make your project happen.
Among the more difficult hardware items to find are creeper wings. Most
creeper wings are usually hand made or unavailable from creeper
manufacturers. Recently, a different approach to the creeper wing hardware
has been introduced by the folks at Moore’s Lures.
As you can see from the photos, the wings are actually oversized willow
leaf blades with a slot cut at one end to facilitate the lure body mounting
hardware. The screweye that is pictured is used as the mechanism to adjust
the angle of the wing in relationship to the body.
This is not a perfect approach to creeper wings. There is the potential
for the screweye adjustment to change over time and through use but then you
will have that problem with any creeper.
The bottom line here is that nothing is perfect. A creeper is a
good winter project to consume those long months waiting for the ice to go
out.
